Back on the wagon!

Hello my family and friends!  It's been about two years since I last posted on this page.  My life has been taken over by lots of excuses and too much time on Facebook and other social media.  I have also gone through lots of medical issues.  The first of course was the back pain I suffered after a Zumba class, that was followed by toe and knee surgery.  I never exercise anymore and all attempts to take a swimming class were put on the back burner.

Yesterday, however, I went to my first appointment with Dr. Sanchez.  Dr. Sanchez is the medical director at Ventura County Medical Center for Bariatrics.  This new location at the hospital was created because the only other option was Dr. Billy.  Unfortunately, it was too expensive for me to see Dr. Billy, therefore, this was a welcome addition.

After Dr. Sanchez interviewed me, he suggested that he check my Lap Band and then added one ml of saline.  Because I was in for surgery options, he recommend the gastric sleeve.  This procedure is also conducted as minimally invasive.  I will still have to go through all of the pre-surgery procedures including seeing the psychologist, the nutritionist and get all the lab work.  Also, because I may be going through another knee surgery, I asked the doctor to wait until I was recovered from that.

Overall, I am happy that I'll be back on tract and I also hope that my knees will be good enough to go back to Zumba classes.  I thank you in advance for your thoughts and prayers.  ~~Marisela
